Timmy’s Iron Pan Chicken Recipe

You know, there are days that I am not even sure how I will make time to get dinner on the table. I feel pulled in every direction so much so the room sometimes feels like it is spinning! You ever feel like that?

Well, I have this whole chicken recipe that I want to share with you that I feel is SUPER easy and doesn't take much "hands on" time. Wouldn't it be nice to get some time back in your day but not at the sacrifice of a good home cooked meal? PLUS our family of 3 had plenty of leftovers (😉win win for not cooking the next night).

We aquried this recipe from our friend Timmy, so I call it “Timmy’s Iron Pan Chicken.”

You do need a cast iron pan big enough to hold a whole chicken for this recipe. If you do not have one... look into it as I feel it is worth the investment!

Timmy's Iron Pan Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole Snyder Family Farm Chicken

  • desired seasonsings (salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika are a few of our favorites or a premade favorite blend works as well)

  • butter-  1 stick (trust the process)

Directions:

1. Put large greased cast iron pan in oven and pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. (The pan is preheating as well)
2. While oven and pan heating, coat chicken in desired seasoning. Cover entirely.
3. Once pan and oven done pre-heating, take out of oven and place chicken in pan.
4. Cover chicken with pads of butter, all over.
5. Put chicken back in oven and cook for 35 minutes.
6. When timer goes off- LEAVE DOOR CLOSED AND CHICKEN INSIDE OVEN. Then, turn off the oven.
7. Let the chicken coast in oven for approx 30 more minutes.
8. Remove chicken and ensure the thickest part of breast meat has an internal temp of at least 165 degrees. If so, it is DONE!
9. Let cool enough to not burn the daylights out of you to cut up and then enjoy!

That is it... it is simple... doesn't require me to slave over the stove for hours and it is DELICIOUS!
I love that I can pop it in the oven and do other things in the house while it is cooking. I also FYI, cut up a sweet potato into cubes, tossed in avocado oil, sprinkled with garlic and salt and put on a sheet pan on a different rack in same oven to have a complete dinner.

😋MMM mmm GOOD!
