Mexican-style Seasoned Pork

At Snyder Family Farm we sell a wide array of seasoned sausages: Sage, breakfast, chorizo, hot and sweet Italian, bratwurst. Yet we also sell unseasoned ground pork, too, for those who like to experiment with their own seasonings and styles of meat. We encourage it, and we love hearing from customers who have created their own incredible blends!

Today we want to share a tasty variant on a Mexican-style seasoned pork. A style of chorizo, this blend of spices is both savory and mildly sweet. It goes great with tacos, quesadillas and other classic Mexican fare.

Ingredients:

1lb ground pork
1 tbsp sweet paprika
1 tsp smoked paprika
1.5 tsp salt
1.5 tsp oregano
3/4 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp coriander
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
2 cloves
Dash of apple cider vinegar

Directions:

Blend all of the spices together. (We prefer using whole spices freshly ground, but ground spices work just fine, too.) Combine with the pork and mix well---we suggest using your hands to make sure the spices are fully worked through the meat. Once it's done, the meat should be a rich red color. Fry up the sausage as you normally would and use as you like!
